Voting Question: whats the differnet between a kicktail and a freesyle longboard?

I'm starting to get into longboarding and im thinking about getting one. But there are soooo many. Ive narrowed down my picks to only 2 boards. A kicktail and a freestyle longboards. Which one is better for all around stuff, such as cruising, carving, things of that nature. Any help is appreciated!! Thanks!
